Mezzo soprano Sarah Larsen makes her debut with MOR in the 2012 performance of Farewell, Auschwitz!. Heralded as “dynamic” (The Wall Street Journal), possessing “a rich, powerful voice”(Assiciated Press) and “a mezzo capable of considerable tonal nuance”(Opera News), Sarah Larsen triumphed in her Wolf Trap Foundation debut in April of 2011, creating the role of Sarelda in the world premiere of John Musto and Mark Campbell’s new opera The Inspector.
She spent the 2011-2012 season with Seattle Opera as a Young Artist, and was featured on the mainstage as Mercédès in Carmen and as Charlotte in the Young Artist Program production of Werther. She began 2012 with a recital in Seattle featuring the works of Debussy, Schubert, and Rossini, and also performed Suzuki in Seattle Opera’s production of Madama Butterfly.
