Catherine Cook, mezzo soprano, has excelled in a wide range of roles with leading opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, LA Opera and Houston Grand Opera. The Cincinatti Post wrote that she “recalled the great mezzo Marilyn Horne: her luxurious voice showed remarkable flexibility. Her exciting characterizations garner acclaim as well.” Cook has performed more than 45 roles with San Francisco Opera, and is chair of the voice department at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She premiered the role of Gertrude Stein in MOR’s 2015 production of Tom Cipullo’s After Life.
