Seohyun Hwang

Young violinist Seohyun Hwang, aged 16, is studying with Masao Kawasaki at The Juilliard School, Pre-College. Seohyun participates in many music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Allegro Vivo Festival Austria, the Meadowmount School of Music, and the Tibor Varga Music Academy Switzerland. 

As a numerous concerto competition winner, Seohyun has performed with the Evergreen Philharmonic, the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra, the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Northwest Sinfonietta. Furthermore, he has made live appearances on the Northwest Focus LIVE on King FM 98.1. Seohyun is the winner of the MTNA competition, the Solo and Ensemble contest for solo violin and small ensemble, the recipient of the Ben Faigin Young Artist Award, the Music of Remembrance David Tonkonogui Memorial Award, and a fellowship from the National Symphony Orchestra National Trustees. 

As an avid chamber and orchestral musician, Seohyun served as concertmaster of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, and currently serves as concertmaster of the Evergreen Philharmonic.
