Luís Tinoco

Luís Tinoco's chamber and orchestral music has been commissioned and programmed by orchestras such as the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, Porto Symphony Orchestra Casa da Música, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Turin Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, São Paulo Symphony (OSESP) and the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, among others. His stage works include Evil Machines, a music theatre project with libretto and stage direction by the former Monty Python Terry Jones; Paint Me, a chamber opera with libretto by Stephen Plaice and stage direction by Rui Horta; and the ballet Lidia for the Companhia Nacional de Bailado, with choreography by Paulo Ribeiro.

Tinoco's music has been featured many times on the MOR stage, including the compositions Aleppo (2019) and is currently working on a new piece commissioned by Music of Remembrance (2025).
