Christina Medawar

Seattle native Christina Medawar is a flutist, educator, and arts leader dedicated to connecting communities through music. She was the tenured second flutist of the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra from 2010-2019 and now frequently performs with the Seattle Symphony, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Seattle Opera. She is the founder and artistic director of the Sustain Music Project, a chamber ensemble that creates immersive musical experiences in collaboration with other art forms and community organizations. Christina is the 5th-12th grade instrumental music teacher at King's Schools and is the current president of the Seattle Flute Society. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, she is passionate about music performance, outreach, and education.
