Lily Bogas
Mezo-Soprano
Mezzo-soprano Lily Bogas makes her MOR debut in a selection of songs from the theatrical song cycle We Go On, Oswego, composed in tribute to the women of the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Center in Fort Ontario New York, the only refugee camp in America during WWII.
Lily is in her final year at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she first came to MOR’s attention as a participant in the conservatory’s workshop of Tom Cipullo’s The Dialogue of Memories. She was invited to cover that opera’s lead role of Sonia in MOR’s three-city world premiere tour.
At the San Francisco Conservatory she has performed Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina and Dorothèe in Massenet’s Cendrillon. She attended the Aspen Music Festival in 2025, where she covered the role of Dharuna in the world premiere of Siddhartha, She by Christopher Theofanidis. This past Summer, Lily returned to Colorado as a 2026 Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artist with Central City Opera. Previous highlights include Anne in Jake Heggie’s To Hell and Back, and the title role in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Eastman Opera Theatre. Lily is also a recipient of the 2025/26 Schmidt Vocal Arts Alumni Grant. In addition to her operatic career, Lily is the songwriter and co-founder of her jazz-pop group Seldon the Band, which has garnered over 100,000 streams on Spotify, and is slated to perform at San Francisco’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in the Fall of 2026.
