AFTER LIFE
MOR’s new production marks the tenth anniversary of Tom Cipullo’s award-winning opera After Life, imagining a confrontation between the ghosts of Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picasso over the responsibility of artists in a troubled world. This expanded version opens with a musical soirée set in the home of Stein and Alice B. Toklas, with selections by composers they might have hosted at one of their legendary gatherings at 27 rue de Fleurus on Paris’s Left Bank.
Featuring opera stars baritone Michael Mayes, mezzo-soprano Gabrielle Beteag and soprano Alisa Jordheim.
